Mrs. Jones and her Second Grade Reading Champions!
Cole McEldowney (in front) received a special plaque for being the top fundraiser in our school.
"Reading Champions" was a huge success this year, our first year to participate! This program, which ran in the month of October, encourages reading while raising money for the March of Dimes. Students who turned in their pledge envelopes by November 1st waited patiently until the end of December to receive their certificates and medals. These awards finally arrived and have been distributed. Special plaques were also awarded to two of our second grade students, Cole McEldowney from Mrs. Jones’ class and Abby Wallin from Mrs. Wick’s class, for being the top fundraisers in our school and in the Central Region. West University Elementary School earned the most money for research! !!
Everyone’s effort in this reading program is truly appreciated.
We congratulate all of our Reading Champions and encourage all of our student readers, to “Keep on Reading” as we will be participating in the Reading Champions program again next year!
